Party Chairman: Fubara Not Funding Rivers APP

CHAIRMAN ADDRESSES CONCERNS REGARDING FINANCIAL SUPPORT FOR THE RIVERS APP

The Action Peoples Party (APP) has addressed rumors suggesting that Rivers State Governor Siminilayi Fubara is funding the party in preparation to join it. According to Sunny Wokekoro, the State Chairman of APP, these claims are unfounded and the result of attempts by those seeking to instigate crises within the state.

Wokekoro stated, “The Governor is not in any way funding APP,” and emphasized that the PDP is no longer a viable option for serious politicians. He also noted that Fubara is not currently a member of APP, and any association between the governor and the party is purely speculative.

In response to recent events, including an explosive device being detonated at the APP state secretariat, Wokekoro condemned these actions and reiterated that the party would focus on attracting key political figures for the upcoming Local Government elections scheduled for October 5, 2024.

Uchenna Nnadi, the National Chairman of APP, praised the previous leadership for their contributions to the party’s relevance and assured that APP is committed to a strong performance in the upcoming elections. He highlighted the party’s internal resolutions and readiness to showcase its strength.

The APP continues to position itself as a viable alternative in the state’s political landscape, despite the ongoing challenges and speculations.
