On November 27, 2020, Reese made her Maryland debut. In a 94-72 victory over Davidson, she recorded a freshman season-high 20 points and pulled down nine rebounds.
On December 3, during her fourth game of the season versus Towson, she suffered a Jones fracture in her right foot. She underwent surgery and was sidelined until February 23, 2021.
Reese made her way off the bench after returning from injury. She averaged 10 points and 6 rebounds per game as a rookie, earning her a spot on the Big Ten All-rookie team.
Reese became one of the finest offensive rebounders in the nation in her second year after taking on more responsibility.

On April 5, 2022, she and a few of her teammates joined the transfer site. As the most celebrated transfer in the nation, she went to LSU, South Carolina, and Tennessee.
According to the Southeastern Conference (SEC) program, Reese transferred to LSU on May 6, 2022.

She not only won the Most Outstanding Player award at the tournament with 34 double-doubles, but she also shattered the NCAA single-season record.

In more than 15 seasons, Reese was the first female athlete to average over 23 points and 15 rebounds each game as a junior.
She led the NCAA Division I in both total and offensive rebounds and was second only to Lauren Gustin of BYU in terms of rebounds per game.
Reese received honors for being named to the SEC All-Defensive Team, first-team All-SEC, and first-team All-America.
