NNPP Unveils Candidates for 2025 Osun State Local Government Elections
A few months before the Osun State local government elections, organized by the Osun State Independent Electoral Commission (OSSIEC), the state chapter of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has officially unveiled its candidates for the 2025 polls. This announcement was made at the party’s secretariat in Osogbo, located in the Bicket area.
Dr. Tosin Odeyemi, who serves as both the Chairman of the Forum of New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) and the state chairman, led the event. In his remarks, he emphasized the qualifications of the chosen candidates, stating, “We are here to unveil and affirm our candidates to the whole world; those that are fit to contest this forthcoming local government election in Osun State.”
Dr. Odeyemi highlighted that the NNPP is presenting candidates with strong reputations who are residents of their respective local councils. This residency, he believes, gives them a better understanding of the community’s needs and how best to address them. He also called on the political class in the state to ensure that the elections are credible, free, and fair.
Furthermore, Dr. Odeyemi shared that the NNPP has made significant preparations for the upcoming election. The party has refurbished its secretariat to ensure smooth operations and robust management. “Effective administrative efforts are in place for preparation towards the forthcoming local government election stipulated for the year 2025, and strategizing ahead of the forthcoming gubernatorial election in 2026,” he stated, affirming the party’s readiness for the challenges ahead.
He also mentioned that the inauguration and opening of local offices in various areas, including Obokun, Boripe, Olaoluwa, Ifelodun, Ila, Ifedayo, and Oriade local government areas, are scheduled for next week, further strengthening the party’s grassroots presence across the state.
The NNPP’s proactive measures and early unveiling of candidates signal its intent to be a strong contender in the 2025 Osun State local government elections and beyond.
